Bukbu English Service Opening Speech and Prayer (C. Koo) 2-6-2005

Hello, everyone. It is time for us to begin our today\’s English Worship Service at the Bukbu Church. I welcome all of you. I hope you to have good and meaningful time through the service. I hope it is time for you to find yourselves in Jesus Christ.
It was very cold around a week, but it is much better last 3 days. The temperature was -5 to -10 Celsius even in Pohang. I hope all of you are O.K. without caughting cold. My self, so busy through the week to do some research and projects. But I will do rest next several days in Seoul. As you know, Luna new year\’s day, people call, Chinese new year is February 9th and official vacation is from 8 – 10th. Traditionally, this Luna new year\’s day has more meanings than the solar new year\’s day for Korean. At least 60% of population move during this vacation time. They visit their parents, brothers and sisters in hometown. Of course, traffic would be very heavy. Professor Enlaw is still traveling to the States, he will comeback this week sometime, right? He has to consider the vacation traffic, even for airplane.
Still wars in Iraq is continuing. Tsunami sufferers are still in misery. It is reported that if more clean drinking waters are not provided this week, hundreds of thousand more people would die because of epidemic diseases. We have to pray for them. We have to help them.

Let\’s pray. Heavenly Father. We want to thank You that You provide us such a beautiful place to praise You and worship You together. Through the service, we want to open our hearts, confess our sins, and sincerely share Your words together. As Your teaching says, we want to find ourselves in Jesus Christ.
Father, we seriously sincerely want to learn Jesus Christ. We want to mature in Christ. In a joy or sorrow, we want to keep relying on You. We want to glorify Your name in our life, from the beginning to the end.
Father, we know that once we received God\’s great salvation, as Bible tells, we don\’t want keep it to ourselves. We want to be salt and light. In this world, there are so many brothers and sisters, who does not know You and who are suffering from illness, economic hardships, and political dictatorship. We want pray for them. We want to share His words and our great experiences with them. We believe that Father, the Holy Spirit will provide us with the light we need.    Father, we also want to pray for the people in the Middle East. We hope that the war ended as soon as possible. We hope that these cities and regions become peaceful places without such hungers, killings, and hatred.
We want to say and show to these people that the only way to overcome all the malicious behaviors and falsehoods that we face is just to focus on You, Jesus Christ. Our sins could be erased only through Jesus Christ.
Father, please make us so much like You. Our life want to be controlled by Your power divine. We hope Your energy is working on us.
Father, it is just beginning of our worship service, we want to thank you to send us today\’s preacher paster Wittman. We all want to learn Your teachings and receive plentiful benefits and graces trough him. We prayed in the name of Jesus, A-men.
