Good Afternoon. It is time for us to begin our today\’s English Worship Service. I warmly welcome all of you. I hope that you have really good and meaningful time through the service.
It is early November. It is very beautiful outside. Many people go to mountains nearby to enjoy the scenery. It is also time for marriage. As you already know, Angela our long time friend, I think married yesterday. I hope all of you to enjoy the season and prepare for the new year.
As many of you already know, in the United States, Mr. Bush is reelected at the presidential election. Arapart, the long time leader of Palestine is in critical condition in the hospital. In Korea, with various issues, politicians are debating and quarreling in the congress. The proposal of relocating capital city or top administrative functions to Choongnam Province has to be discarded by the supreme court\’s decision last month. Currently two political parties are confronting each other because of exaggerated blames of other party\’s current ideological doctrines and corrupted actions in the past.
We are in Korea. But we can say that we are part of the global society. As telecommunication technology developed and globalization progresses, we will find that our daily lives are directly impacted from the world issues, and our actions can have impacts to the world. Thus, we can say that our English worship service is also directly and indirectly contribute to the world. We have to more seriously but joyfully get together and worship together. Through our gatherings we will have chance to know Jesus and find peace in our lives. Our gatherings obviously will provides mind and practical training for some people for mission works in the world.
As we know, in this world, there are so many people who do not know Jesus Christ. So many people are worshiping idols and certain doctrines. There are so many brothers and sisters who are suffering from poverty, prejudice, depressions, tortures, and wars. We have to pray for them. We have to pray for peaceful lives of all the people.
Let\’s pray. Heavenly Father. We want to thank You that You provide us such a beautiful place to praise You and worship You together. Through the service, we want to open our hearts, confess our sins, and sincerely share your words together.
Father, now in this world evil prospers. Wars, killings and disputes are continuous in the various places in this world. We are frequently controlled by evil ways. We are imprisoned by our sins. Father, help us to admit that we are sinners. Father, show us the way to set us free. We want to learn to be humble. We want to learn to take away our sinful prides.
Father, give us the courage to do what is right. Help us to be honest and true in all that we say and all that we do. We always want to make Your will our choice. Father, we want to serious understand that the only way to overcome all these falsehoods and temptations that I face is just to focus on the Lord.
Father, we want to pray that all the church members maintain good health, do very good in their jobs, and maintain joyful lives in the rest of years under Your teachings. We want to pray for the peaceful solutions of war in Iraq. We also pray for the neighbors who do not know you and who are suffering from various difficulties. We want that all the people in this world find comforts and rejoice in your salvation.
Thank you Father, you send us today\’s preacher Eric Enlaw. Through his preach, we want to learn Your teachings and receive plentiful benefits and graces. We prayed in the name of Jesus, A-men.
